2 Weeks...Happy Halloween

We are just 2 weeks away from the transfer. In the last week or so I have been craving a lot of sweets. Not sure why...Could it be that my body/mind is gearing up for 9 months of "healthy" eating. I normally eat healthy or at least watch what I eat. But let's face it I work in a restaurant. If you have ever worked in one you know what we do...we graze. A fry here and chip there. Oh is that food "dead", can I have a bite?

So I've eaten more candy, sodas, and just plain crap the last week or so. I'll be getting back on track the next 2 weeks so that I can be a healthy eating momma. I'm slowly weening myself off caffeine. I'm not sure what I'll do without my sweet tea.

Today is Halloween and I'll be working. I get to go dressed in my Gator gear. On my way to work I'm dropping Cart off at a Florida/Georgia party and we are hoping that I'm done extremely early tonight so I can join him. After the party we are heading to a halloween party for a little bit. I'll post pics in the coming days.

Hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!

You May Laugh at Me

So I really thought that I was getting one of my wonderful sinus infections. I get them all the time.

Well I'm laughing at myself. I was so tired today going into work that I decided to stop and get a Cherry Coke to help wake me up. We don't usually keep soda of any kind in the house. Well lo and behold after drinking it my headache of 2 days goes away. It wasn't my sinuses it was the lack of caffeine for 2 days. Wowza!

Sick?!?

It looks like I have caught whatever little bug has been traveling through J-ville. It started last night and today I feel like utter poo. I went to the doctor to get some meds and all he said was curl up on the couch and don't move for 2 days. It wasn't really my doctor just the PA. So now my dilemma is to go ahead and take the doxycycline that is meant for the 6 days before transfer now and get it refilled or just wait this crap out.

I have to work for the next 3 nights so during the days I can lay around until it's time to go to work. I really don't need this.

Sweet Aunt Flo

Remember my post of Phase 1 complete...About a week and a half before I stopped BCPs I got what I thought was my last dear 'ole Aunt Flo. Well to my surprise 3 days after stopping the BCPs I get what I suspect is Aunt Flo.

I spent the last week at work bragging that my last one was the last one I was gonna get for at least 10months. Boy was I wrong.

So this morning I called our IVF coordinator to talk about our sonogram, lab tests and I ask "were we expecting me to get a period after stopping BCPs?" She said yes that she forgets sometimes to tell some people.

All I can say is my poor hubby. I'm sure I've been miserable to live with the last week. I've been moody and emotional. But he says he understands and just gives me my space :)

The sonogram is scheduled for Nov 6th. At this appt they will look at my lining to make sure it is looking good for the transfer. At this point this is the only sonogram to check the lining but there is the possibility to have another before the transfer.

I'm a Sucker

Yup that's me. I have this problem saying No. It is quite annoying sometimes. Tonight is one of those times. I was working a Key Management shift tonight from 4-10 and towards the end of the night my manager asks me are you the Mid tomorrow (meaning are you working 10am to 10pm tomorrow?)? No sir I say it's my day off. But I'll go ask B for you. Nope B has plans tomorrow. So before I'm ready to leave that manager is talking with our GM on the phone and they come up with a deal to get me to work. I of course can't refuse, thinking one day it will benefit me and they would help me out. So on a day I was looking forward to having off I am working all day. :(

So this week I'll be working overtime. In the end it is probably good that I am working since I'll be taking off 2 weeks in November for the transfer. But 40 hrs in 2 weeks, Yuck!

Phase 1 complete

Phase 1 of Birth Control is complete. Only 18 more days of Lupron. Those shots aren't too bad just the way they mess with my body is annoying.

I do start Estrace next Thursday.

It is kinda quiet here so not much going on other than medications.

Fabulous Weekend

We had a great weekend. I worked Friday night so Cart went running and played the Wii (his usual bachelor activity). Saturday Cart helped a friend of ours move some furniture and then had football. This meant I had a quiet afternoon at home. The weather was divine! I love fall weather. So I spent the afternoon in my scraproom making cards, doing Layouts and then of course I had to go to work. Sunday was another fabulous weather day. We had all the windows open and cleaned house. i got a few hours of scrapping in and then our parents came over for some Chili. Yum!

The shots are going well. I am able to give them to myself which is nice. That means I get to sleep in when Cart gets up for work in the morning. I stop the birth control pills on Thursday and then a week later I start Estrace. It's getting so close.

Day 2 Injection

Today I gave myself the Lupron injection. Afterwards I looked at the vial and thought man that seems a little empty. And immediately wondered if I am giving myself too much. I actually think I am. So when I run to Pub.lix today to get stuff to make Chilli for tomorrow I'll be stopping by the pharmacy to ask my pharmacist. I do have an email into our IVF coordinator and she does answer them after hours but just in case.

Why am I confused? The calendar says 20units of Lupron. The syringes have lines and numbers all over it and at the top reads units above the numbers. So I've been filling the syringe to 20. I'm confused because on Wednesday I asked my Dr about them to make sure I was doing them right and he said to use the hash marks not the numbers. So yeah really confused.

Ouch

Today was my first Lupron injection. I remember the last time I did these in my thigh and they hurt and stung. Well per docs orders they go in the belly.

So this morning I got up a little earlier than normal so that Cart could give it to me before he went to work. I get it ready and he administers. Going in it didn't hurt at all. I was shocked. But about 2 min afterwards it started to sting and itch and it looked like a mosqito bite.

But now it's all good. So only 25 more days of them :)

Good News and Bad News

Which would you like first?

I'll go with good news. Good news I had my baseline ultrasound yesterday and all is good. No cysts and uterus looks good. So we are all clear to proceed with our cycle. Wasn't that short and sweet?

Now our bad news...On my way home from the Drs office I get a call from Cart asking if I messed with the AC in the house. I hadn't touched it in days so he proceeds to tell me it is set to 76 and is registering at 83 in the house. My first thought is thank goodness we are out of the worst heat of the summer. Second thought is get Harley to Cart's parents because he must be hot (sure enough when I got home he was panting and laying on the wood floors like a frog). Third was it's almost 5 so we need to hurry up and make some phone calls and get someone out ASAP to look at it and we were praying it was just freon or something easy. Well it was a little easy our compressor needed to be replaced. But the new compressors aren't compatible with old inside units. Lucky us. So we need to have the entire unit inside/outside replaced.

Remember last August we needed a new roof because the old one was leaking? Remember last November when we had to put new siding on the house because we had a lot of wood rot? Well it has come in 3's all in the same year. All the major things that could go wrong with a house has happened to us.

I guess the silver lining on the bad news is it's all done so when the babies come we won't have to worry about that stuff :)

What's happening

Well I got my Lupron from my local pharmacy. I was tired of care.mark and dealing with the Lupron that it was just easier and all around cheaper.... by $10. But right now $10 is big. The rest of my meds were suppose to arrive on Saturday... however some ding dong at care.mark decided that I wanted to know how much I was spending before the released them to be shipped. I told her I wanted to know how much WHEN they were shipped. So they were closed today with it being Columbus day so I call first thing tomorrow morning.

I have my baseline Ultrasound (u/s) on Wednesday afternoon. Not too excited about that being that AF is in town. But I will endure for the sake of wonderful babies in my future :)

I start the Lupron on Friday. Cart will be giving me my injections again this time around. I'm not a fan of needles but Cart is gentle :) I've thought about doing them myself since I would have to get up early for Cart to give them. But don't think I could bare to do it myself.

On other news...I'm quite prepared for morning sickness :) I have endured the stomach flu for the last 3 days. It hasn't been fun but it is always nice to have the hubby take care of me. I'm doing better now thankfully and actually ate more normal food and drink tonight.

Prescriptions...ugghh

I've had such a hard time getting my prescriptions filled. I'm so annoyed with Care.mark right now. I called about 2 months ago with a list of my meds and talked to a very helpful lady and knew that the Lupron would not be covered. Duh it is a fertility med....insurance doesn't cover fertility treatments. So I knew I would be using the cash plan.

My doctors office faxed my prescription over on Tuesday and apparently they have been trying to get it "denied" since then. I finally had them transfer just that 1 prescription to my local pharmacy Pub.lix which I LOVE. Guess what my pharmacist called me within 30min and told me that when he ran it that it said I the patient had to call this 800 number. Guess where that 800 # led me? That's right back to Care.mark! I told him it wasn't a covered drug and he was running it through as cash and I will have it late this afternoon.

The only thing I need to figure out now is how many kits I will need. For about a week and a half I will use 20units per day and then for the last week I use only 10units per day. I would love only needed 1 Kit but I have a feeling I will be using 2 Kits.

Schedule Came!

So Excited! I start injections on Friday the 16th! And then start the estrogen pills on the 30th. I only have to have 2 visits before the transfer which is such a difference from a regular IVF cycle. Much more relaxed it seems.

The transfer has been scheduled tentatively for the 16th of Nov. So depending on the time the transfer occurs I may just go get a massage before so that I am nice and relaxed!

Not long now.

A day off

I'm not sure what a day off really is anymore. I've been at work everyday whether it is for 2 hours or 8 hours since Saturday the 27th. So my next real day off is this coming Saturday and we have a wedding to go to. So I really can't just lounge around.

I was suppose to be off yesterday...we actually drove the 3hrs to Tampa and spent the morning/afternoon at Busch Gardens and we were home by 6pm. But at 930 I headed into work to do abour 2 1/2 hrs of cleaning behind the bar.

Then I am suppose to be off tomorrow. However we are doing bar certification tomorrow and they wanted me there out of our 7 bartenders. Due to this bar certification I've spent extra time making sure the bar is clean and ready. All this extra time is not really what I wanted.

Now I wait for a day off...a real one where nothing is planned. Maybe I'll have to wait until November for that.

6 Weeks....Eeek!

That's right 6 weeks until transfer day! I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. Excited because I'll be pregnant and nervous about all the before stuff. I'm having issues with my cycle while on BCPs. I don't think it is what our coordinator had in mind. I'll hopefully be talking to her within the week. I want to call but don't want to be one of those patients.

So here we are waiting on the schedule and the call from the prescription company about payment and shipping. :)
