Post Garage Sale Donations

We had donations left over after the garage sale. Currently they are sitting in my garage. My employer, Chilis, on Saturday is have a garage sale in the back parking lot to raise money for St. Jude's Childrens hopsital. On Saturday morning I will be taking the left over donations to them.

We are having another sale of our own in November but we felt that people gave so generously to us that we wanted to give back what we could, so we'll be donating them to that sale. Also the November sale won't be as large as this one.

Also for those of you that don't know every September Chili's collects donations from their guests to benefit St Jude's. During the month one day is set aside as donate profits day. This Monday the 28th is Donate profits day. So be sure to stop by your neighborhood Chili's for lunch or dinner and help the children of St. Judes!

Schedule

I talked to our IVF coordinator yesterday. I have started the prenatals which are actually awesome. But you don't really want to hear why ;)

She told me that she'll be working on our schedule within the next week. For those of you who don't understand IVF lingo...the schedule tells me when I start which meds, when the monitoring happens and what time the transfer will be. So that means I should have it by the first of October of shortly there after. It's really only a month and a half away.

In other news, grandma H passed away this week. She wasn't our grandma but was family. She lived a very full life. She continuously prayed for us for all things baby. I don't think we lost someone praying for us, I think she is now sitting next to God talking directly too him. We'll miss you Grandma H.

They Have Arrived!

Our precious embies have arrived at our clinic and are in the very safe hands of the embriologist. Our coordinator was so busy yesterday she called me just before leaving the office yesterday to let me know! What great news.

Only 2 months until the transfer. But right now I have many things to keep me busy! Like a yard sale in 3 days with lots of stuff to go through before then.

Thank you for all your support and prayers!

Yard Sale - 1 Week

Our Fundraiser Yard Sale is just 1 week away. We've been busy collecting donations but every now and then I think that we won't have enough stuff. I'm picking up a lot of stuff this week so hopefully it won't be as bad as I think.

During the yard sale we are holding the 50/50 drawing and a raffle of other prizes. We are also selling drinks and snacks as well as cards that I've made and cards that the wonderful ladies of my scrapbooking board have donated.

It should be a good sale and this week will either go by really slow or really fast.

Shipping

Our little embies are being shipped Monday from Seattle! Originally the clinic in Seattle told us that we couldn't use their container. But when our coordinator called Seattle they decided to go ahead and use their shipper. So our embies could have been here already.

But anyway...they will be in Jacksonville either Tuesday or Wednesday! So excited.

On other things. I've been on BCPs for 2 weeks now and since my fabulous friend has left I'm still spotting which apparently is a side effect of the BCPs :(

50/50 Drawing

We are holding a 50/50 drawing on September 20th! The way a 50/50 drawing works is everyone buys tickets. On September 20th we will draw 1 ticket and the ticket we draw that person will win half of the money collected for the drawing. If you look to the right there is a "Donate" button to do it through paypal.

You can buy 1 ticket for $5 or 3 tickets for $10.

Thanks for all your support!

HSG=No Fun

This post is of the graphic nature...if you are squeamish, a man who shutters at the mention of a women period or don't like anything graphic...you have been warned.

The HSG today was no fun. I'll skip the boring stuff. I'm taken into the Xray room and given a gown. I go into the bathroom and take care of my woman things because yes I am still on my period. At first they sit me in a chair and I remind them I'm still on my period so they move me to the hard cold table because it has one of those big pag thingies on it. I wait for about 30 min for Dr. S to arrive from his clinic.

Dr. S arrives and asks if I have any questions...here is how that conversation went

Me: yes I do, since I'm still bleeding when the dye is injected and it goes through the fallopian tubes will it take any of the endometrial tissue with it and possibly cause Endo?
Dr. S: There is a possiblity yes
Me: How big?
Dr S: Well it is highly unlikely. How heavy is the bleeding
Me: Not my normal heaviness. I've been spotting since Saturday so this is day 6
Dr S: Well maybe we should reschedule for Tuesday
Me: But my husband took off from work
Dr S: well I don't want later down the road for us to find Endo and then you say but Dr S you told me I wouldn't get endo
Me: Do you feel comfortable that the probablity is low?
Dr S: yes the probablity is low
Me: okay lets do it

He then proceeds insert the speculum and I about scream in pain because the thing pinched me. he removes and tries again, it still pinches but the nurse holds my hand. He does some stuff with catheters, numbing agent etc and then we wait for the radiologist. Once he arrives the machine is placed where it needs to be and the dye is immediately injected and the horrid cramping starts. Holy Hell that hurt. Afterwards there was gushing blood with lots of cramping. The cramping has continued and now I find myself on the couch where I will remain the rest of the day. I already called work and said I wouldn't be in unless they absolutely needed me. I'm just a shift manager and they have 4 managers there today so I don't think they will need me. We shall see.

After we left Xray we had to go up to his office with the disc. I got another sample of BCPs and a sample of prenatals. Still waiting to get in touch with Seattle about shipping the container.

On a lighter note Gator Football Starts tomorrow night at 7pm! Can't wait.

74 Days

Yes that is right. 74 days until the transfer. So excited! November 15th is the actual date and she told me that we'd do the first beta the day after Thanksgiving! I've been thinking about it a lot this week and have been quite nervous. But today as I was cleaning the house I looked up on top of the china cabinet and saw a plaque we bought that says... "Faith is not believing that God can, it is knowing that God will." It brought me such peace with everything.

HSG

The HSG has been scheduled! I will be at the hospital at 7am on Friday morning filling out paperwork and the HSG will be at 730am. I didn't have much pain after the first one but it was with a different doctor. I'm hoping that it doesn't hurt so I can work Friday night. Good thing I'm just the shift manager which doesn't require too much hard physical work...just walkin around lookin pretty. LOL!

Wednesday I should be receiving a call from the clinic to pay for the shipping of the container to get the embryos and the shipping back! So excited about that!
