I went to the REs office today to meet our IVF coordinator finally. She is just as fabulous in person as she is on the phone. She makes this process feel so relaxing. I keep thinking it's going too smoothly when will something go wrong. But this weeks devotional is Hope. So I continue to Hope that this is going the way God intends.
The fun news is that because my cycles have been irregular, if we want to cycle in November I have to start BCPs (birth control pills) this cycle. So we only have a few days to make the final decision.
The tentative timeline for a November cycle would be: BCPs until end of October, Lupron for about 3 weeks, start estridal beginning of November, start Progesterone 5 days before transfer, transfer would be Nov 15th. With blood test on the 27th! Wow putting it in writing is exciting :)
I have the papers to get our infectious disease testing done and when my cycle does start I call and schedule my HSG. I remember last time it wasn't too bad but I'm a little worried it might hurt this time.
She should be able to ship out the container on Wednesday to Seattle which means the embies would be in Jacksonville hopefully by the following week. So exciting!
I had a wonderful lunch with my Pops today. He has a phone job interview on Monday so please say a prayer for him.
I have a horrible headache today...they aren't done with the roof and are pouding on the roof. I'm actually looking forward to going to work today :) They say they should be done with the roof today. They had a minor rain delay though. Here's to hoping that they finish today so I'm not woken up at 7am with pounding on the roof.
We made the all day trek home from Seattle today. What an exhausting day...up at 315am (PST) in the air by 705 (PST) and then finally home at 7pm(EST).
The roof is in mid repair with a good portion completed. Hopefully it doesn't rain tomorrow so they can finish! As soon as it is done and I finally cut the stupid bush out front (I never should have planted it) I'll post a before picture and after picture. YAY!
The contracts are signed! We were able to take care of this while still in Seattle which was good. Our little embies still need to make their way across the US to our clinic and hopefully that will happen by the end of September at the latest.
I'm hoping to meet with our IVF coordinator Wednesday to give her everything she needs and hopefully set up the HSG but I have to wait from my little friend to show up. We'll be discussing everything that needs to happen before the transfer and also discussing when to transfer.
So when to transfer? I'm leaning more towards November. I'd love to do it sooner BUT the clinic October cycle is already closed for new cyclers. So the next cycle after November is January but we cycled in Jan on our last IVF attempt and I just don't feel comfortable doing it in January. So the next option after November for us is February. Cart votes February and I vote November but I'm pretty sure I'm on my way to a November cycle :)
We head home tomorrow and thankfully have Wednesday off from work. Maybe we'll have a new roof when we come home :)
We have been in Seattle since Wednesday afternoon (pacific time) which would really be Wednesday evening our time :) We've had a great time so far.
On Thursday we went to Snoqualmie Falls and took the 1/2 mile steep hike down to the bottom of the falls. yes we had to hike back up same steep trail. I was very winded, so I guess still very out of shape.
That evening we met with the couple (no names for their privacy) who has 2 embryos they wanted to donate. We had a good time chatting with them and seeing 2 of their little ones. Absolutely adorable little girls! At this point we are working with our attorney to draw up a contract so that we can adopt these little embryos! How awesome is that. God is truly amazing!
Today we went with Sarah into downtown Seattle and had fun walking through Pikes Market. Cart got to see them throw fish and we thought about having some Mahi sent back to FL but at $13 a lb we decided against that idea. Then we walked the 8 blocks to the underground tour only to find out we'd have to wait an hour for our tour. So we took the bus the some 15 blocks back to where we parked and then walked to the space needle. Very cool but my equilibrium did not agree with it. Still fun.
Right now we are just hanging out before we go to dinner tonight at the Melting Pot. We have this restaurant in FL but we have never been. So it will be interesting and maybe we'll like it enough to go when we are home.
Tomorrow we are going on "the ducks" tour and Sunday we are headed into Vancouver. Monday we'll be hanging out locally with hopes that we can have the contract signed. I'll definitely post pictures but that will have to wait until we get home.
When it can go wrong it will go wrong.
Cart always wakes me up. Even when I worked in Corporate America he always woke me up. Well maybe not always...I did have to set my alarm as the back up. But when I started bartending I had no need for the alarm clock he wakes me up and is always sweet about it. I talk incoherently and he rubs my back. It's our moment. Anyway so this morning I didn't have to be to work until 11 and at 845am he comes in and goes really loudly honey what time do you have to be to work I forgot to wake you up. I look crosseyed at the clock and I'm like come back in 15min. Well then he goes by the way we have a leak in the roof. WHAT?!?!
So I climb out of bed throw on some clothes put drops in my eyes so I can see and go see supposed leak. Sure enough big water stain by the front door that goes into the kitchen. Holy moly we need a new roof. Now brings the question what have we done to our house since last November....
1. New siding
2. new carpet (well that was before last november but still)
3. New deck (ripped off the old one to put on new siding)
and now.... a new roof.
Granted we knew we would need a new roof eventually. Well eventually has turned into NOW! You might ask what's the problem with this...Let me tell you....
We leave for Seattle on Wednesday and there is a Tropical Storm in the Atlantic! Mind you we are in Florida where we can time the rain to come every afternoon anywhere between 2pm and 6pm. If it's not fixed we could end up with a hole in the ceiling or maybe even need to replace big chunks of the ceiling. Not fun.
So we have someone coming to rip off our roof and put a new one on come Monday.
It's funny though. For my birthday one year I got a new fridge (yes I asked for an appliance). At the time my choice was between a new stove or fridge so I chose the fridge. Guess what a month later the Stove went zzzzztttt so it went bye-bye. Then before our wedding the microwave went zzzzztttt and 2 days before the wedding I'm shopping at Lowes for a new microwave that was installed while we were on our honeymoon.
As we arrive in Seattle our roof will be in the finishing stages and we'll come home to a brand new roof.
If it can go wrong it will! But thank goodness the outside of our house is now(well after the new roof) in NEW condition. I'm trying not to stress and just try to think it could be worse.

Our Journey Through Infertility
It's official we will be doing a garage/yard sale to get the money together to do an embryo adoption. We are going to try to come up with enough money so that I can also stay home from work for 2 weeks after the transfer.
So right now the garage/yard sale is scheduled for September 19th. We are hoping to have it at my parents church since it is on a major road near the beach. I'm planning on doing a 50/50 drawing and I'll be headed to local businesses to try to get donations for another drawing. We'll sell tickets for both drawings. I'm thinking for the 50/50 drawing it will be $5 a ticket. So if you want to get in on that drop me an email and I will let you know my paypal email addy.
In case you don't know how a 50/50 drawing works, we sell tickets for just that drawing. When we are done selling we tally up how much is made and then draw a name. Who ever's name is drawn is then given 50% of the money collected and we keep the other 50%. So there is chance for you to get some money back.
I'll also be working on making cards to sell there as well.

I really have come to the realization that we will never have our own biological children, but it would be a welcomed miracle. Since I know this is our reality could you please regulate yourself. I know I have put hormones into you but that was just to help you along and not hurt you. Is it too much to ask to have normal cycles. Why must you trick me and send her just to make her disappear. It is quite unfair and I can't keep wondering what if! Just a regular 28 or 30 days would be great. So dear old body would you please make up your mind.
